NEONATAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT UNIVERSITY OF IOWA, STEAD FAMILY

A neonatal intensive care unit, also known as an intensive care nursery, is an intensive care unit specializing in the care of ill or premature newborn infants. Neonatal refers to the first 28 days of life. The University of Iowa is home to the only Level 4 NICU recognized by the American Academy of Pediatrics in the state. This means that this unit is equipped to care for the tiniest and most critically ill babies, offering the greatest range of neonatal services and support.
